The show premiered last on the 18th of July, 2006. The cast includes Colin Ferguson as U.S. Marshall Jack Carter, James Callis as Dr. Grant, Salli Richardson-Witfield as Allison Blake, Joe Morton as Henry Deacon, Jordan Hinson plays Jack Carter’s daughter Zoe Carter, Ed Quinn as Nathan Stark and Erica Cerra sa Jo Lupo.

It looks like every quaint little town one has driven into after a long stretch of road banked with luscious greeneries. But the quaint little town U.S. Marshall Jack Carter accidentally found is more than what it seems. He would have never passed the town, let alone stop for awhile if not for the car accident he and his daughter run into while arguing inside the car. Thank God only the car got damaged. Intending only to stay as long as it took to repair the car, Jack Carter had no inkling that his life is about to change with his arrival to the little town on Eureka. Eureka just happens to be top-secret town where the citizens are either top security personnel or geniuses.
When a town filled with geniuses whose idea of fun is building gadgets, devices and machines unlike anything one ever seen before, something is bound to get wrong. It is just a matter of time. Such time came the day U.S .Marshall Jack Carter arrived with his wrecked car and rebellious daughter, Zoe. A town where highly intelligent people abound will expectedly be able to solve the problem right away, right? In real life, maybe. But in Eureka, Jack Carter and his too simple ideas work perfectly to solve these problems . With his gift of recognizing what could go wrong and the point of view of a common man, U.S. Marshall Jack Carter was offered the position of sheriff. After much thought and nudging from his daughter, he accepted. And thus the adventures in the little but top secret town of Eureka begins.
There is much to enjoy on this show, from the way the actors portrays their characters to the creations of the geniuses. One will see grade school students solving complex math on pavements, hovering trucks and a lot more. One worth mentioning is the house or rather the bunker where Jack and Zoe lives. Named SARAH, it is a smart house with personality. It has even its own defense system.

This episode of ‘Eureka’ was titled ‘Did you see what see’ and it built on that Christmas episode of last year to create something even far more spectacular. This year’s Christmas episode of ‘Eureka’ was animated. And they didn’t just stick to a style but went through several types of animation styles in this one single episode.

Some of the animation styles they went through were animation classics like cell drawn and Claymation styles. They also gave props to animations like ‘South Park’, ‘Scooby Doo’, ‘Charlie Brown, ‘The Simpsons’ and even tipped their hats to Japanese Animie. They did there best to cover as many styles as possible in this single episode.
And what’s more, the characters were giving slight changes as they switched from one animation to another. Where this was really noticeable was in their central animation and Claymation forms when a character like Jo Lupo became ‘Jo White’ and Carter had a Mounty hat.
Characters that missed out in this Christmas episode included Zane and Grace but the Android Deputy Andy was in the episode. Last years explanation for not including Zane and Grace was that they wanted to create what they called a timeless piece since they probably felt that the two characters have not been around long enough to earn that right. But by now they have been around for some three seasons now and it actually looked like something was missing.
But Taggart made it back in this episode. He came as a polar bear that was giving out penguin snacks. Dr. Dummond also showed up in a dog sled and the lead of the dog had the name of Rudy which may have been short for Rudolph. The episode kept on changing as such because of the animation styles but the consistent story of Jo was in all the styles. It was a well noted input when Taggart told her that she doesn’t always have to be fighting all the time and that it was okay the be the Princess every once in a while.
And noteworthy scene was when they all showed up at Jack and Allison’s on the morning of Christmas to exchange gifts. The episode was fun filled and this is the second time they will be going all out for a Christmas edition that people won’t mind playing every Christmas. It is hoped that they will make a tradition of this.
